To rank #1 you need to:

1. Build thousands of links.

and

2. Cram these links down Google’s throat with indexing.

Don’t let anyone else confuse you, this is pretty much the whole SEO game in two steps.

Backlink Indexing…

Rule #1: Stop Overestimating Google

Remember, Google is not an Omnipotent super creature that sees the entirety of the internet every 5 minutes.

Basically, if there isn’t a link to your page, Big G Bot will not see it. Period.

This includes pages with your backlinks on them!

Your website ranking (and online income) boils down to some very simple concepts…

How Google Crawls and Indexes the Internet:

Googlebot has no real “map” of the internet.

There is no giant listing of every page online. Google’s job is to create that listing…

So what GoogleBot does is follow links from one page to another. Along the way, these pages are cataloged and added to the giant Google index.

Now keep in mind that there are a TON of links out there.

Sitemaps, Directories, In-Context Links, Natural Linking, etc…

Most major sites are indexed already. You don’t need to help index the CNN.com homepage :-)

But there are also boatloads of pages that have 0 links to them. In fact, GoogleBot has no idea that they exist.

I’m sure even CNN.com has pages that GBot has never seen.

Unfortunately, some of the internet’s most unknown pages have your links on them!

Links you spent hard earned time and money creating become 100% worthless if Google never indexes them.

You might as well just burn your money in a grill. At least you’d have a barbecue to show for it…

In one of Matt Cutt’s videos, he goes over ways to HIDE or NOT INDEX a page on your site. One of the ways he notes is to build an “obscure page” (*Cough*, Forum Profiles), not include it in your sitemap, and not link to it.

Matt Cutt’s Description of good Hidden Pages happens to include most:

-Public Forum Profiles

-Obscure Article Directories

-Obscure Blog Comments

-And Just about every other linking strategy us SEOs are using these days…

You Need…Get This….

Backlinks to your Backlinks ?!? (BL2BLs)

You need backlinks to the pages that have your, well… backlinks.

Otherwise, GBot will never see your backlinks. And your Organic results will stay the same. Your site will sit wherever it is now.

In fact, it may fall in ranking as other sites gather links.

You’ll be wondering where all the traffic is, while other marketers using this system are making money in their sleep…

So, to get these backlinks counted you need BL2BL (Backlinks to your Backlinks)

But remember, you need a certain kind of backlink to your backlinks.

These link pages will not get any more indexed than they are now…

Now, many of these link pages would have a 0.5% index rate or lower without any additional help.

So the numbers above are still very helpful for ranking sites.
